Joys of Summer?

My a/c went out, is d.o.a,....or d.o.r. (dead on roof) I'm in third floor condo and the unit is from early eighties. I went up with tech. to look at and trouble shoot. Yep! it's burned out/up.

I got prices ranging from possibly 2800 dollars! if a crane is needed to lastly 125o from my head of maint. of the home owners association, I've known and trusted him since I got here four or so years back. He does this on the side, having done several through the years on the property.

Here's a pic of TAKEN in 2004 of unit. All for now...it's early morning and 72 degrees out? but is eighty five in my place even with windows/back door open. The temp. reached 90 degrees at one point,... Thank goodness for ceiling fans!
